Well, another year ends as a new one awaits. Its a wonderful time Christmas, though I am glad it is over as I can only eat and drink so much. This year for me does not start with a resolution, instead I have a list of plans and objectives. Sounds methodical? Not really, it is about small changes to create a better picture. I will not be jogging, getting fit nor cutting back on eating; this year I have some wonderful drawings and paintings to produce.
To start the year off I plan on painting a series Moles for my girlfriend, and for a short time after, leaving the animals behind and attempting some humans. Its a tricky subject to broach but some sayings and phrases just demand it.
I also have planned a series of illustrations about witches and naughty children. Over the holiday period I was thinking back to when my daughters were young and to the stories I used to tell them before bed. One of them was about a small girl called Emily, and of all the fantastic adventures she went on. One such tale was about witches, and in the telling I would draw the characters on an old etch-a-sketch. Anyway to cut a long story short I plan on resurrecting those wicked old hags and depending on how they go I might just tackle a short children's story to accompany them.
At the end of the month I will be planning some shows, all of which I will post on here. If you have a phrase or a saying, or even a pet name for a loved one, please drop me a line as I am always intrigued by the English Language and its nuances. To anybody with a wicked sense of humour, I am open to commissions, so again if you want a pet or somebody you know drawing, drop me a line and lets see if I can capture what is in your mind?
